Declining the future – Casting

Submissions for ‘Declining the Future’ now invited

Production dates:

Workshop day: Tuesday 7 June at Quaker House, Derby (city centre)
Rehearsals: 15-21 June 10am- 6pm at Quaker House (Sunday off)
Performances: 21 June, Oxford Offbeat Festival. 9 July (2.30pm and 7.15 pm) and 10 July (3pm), Buxton Festival.
We hope to add some dates in between. Please only apply if you are currently free between 22 June-10 July.

Charlotte Viney/Miriam Gerhardt/Marlene Earnshaw (Female)
Must be able to do a good German accent for one of the roles. Playing 3 different roles. All the company will help with quick changes/light ASM duties.
Charlotte Viney (1816) Wife of James Viney, owner of failing wool factory
Miriam Gerhardt (1936) Jewish wife of Gerhardt, mother of Sophie. German Accent essential.
Marlene Earnshaw( 2007) Stalwart of local climate group.
Playing age 45 – 55
Appearance – Eastern European, Mediterranean, Scandinavian, White

James Viney/Dietrich Gerhardt/Keith Upchurch (Male)
Must be able to do a good German accent for one of the roles. Playing 3 roles.
James Viney (1816): owner of failing wool factory
Dietrich Gerhardt (1936) Eminent German surgeon
Keith Upchurch (2007); Climate change celebrity “eminence grise” of climate group.
All the company will help with quick change/light ASM duties
Playing age 45 – 55
Appearance – Eastern European, Mediterranean, Scandinavian, White

Fee: £315 for workshop and rehearsal week (all in – meets NLW).
£50 per performance day.
Travel to and from the performance venues will be provided.

Auditions and rehearsals will be in Derby. Unfortunately, there are no fees for expenses or accommodation and therefore it is advisable and preferred that all actors have a genuine base in the East Midlands. PLEASE STATE BASE IN YOUR SUBMISSION.
